We are creatures of habit. And after spending a healthy dose of time in New York, our wardrobes fully reflect that. Take one peek into our closet, and a sea of black clothing will wash over you (if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?).
But just because the weather has taken a warmer turn doesn't mean we're ready to give up our favorite black pieces for the season. It's not that we don’t like bright pops of color, but we tend to lean towards the moody, noir hue because it leaves us with that 'cool girl' effortlessness (not to mention it holds amazing slimming capabilities).
And though the thought of wearing dark clothes in the summer probably fills most with sweaty dread—hear us out...black can be totally summer-worthy.
Essentially, it's all about wearing the right fabrics. Anything too heavy or clingy is going to make you look (and feel) uncomfortable. Opt for cotton, linen, or anything gauzy and breezy. Leather is pretty much a no-go (you don't want to end up in a leather pants situation à la Ross Geller, after all).
