Of all the surprising spring trends that have surfaced over the past couple of seasons, the once-taboo combination of pink and red is undoubtedly the one we were furthest from predicting. Sure, there was a lot of pink on the runways (and on celebs), and red has been everywhere for a while now, but how many times in your life have you stopped yourself from wearing the two related hues together because it was a fashion “no?” We certainly have ( and more times than we can count). But alas, we can rejoice because the look is undoubtedly trending, thanks to our favorite designers and street style stars.
And with Valentine's Day just about here, there's no better time to give this pairing a try. The secret is not being afraid to dare since this color combination has now become widely popular. If you want to take it slowly, start from the accessories. See, for example, a red minidress that pairs with a pink backpack. Or create a contrast between a blazer and a top–mixing fuchsia and a very deep rouge.
