The trend strong-arming it's way into our wardrobes...

Thanks to last spring's love affair with off-the-shoulder everything, our decolletage has never been more perfectly sun-kissed (and fully #nofilter ready). But this year, designers have something a little different in mind...
Instead of bearing those shoulders to the world, cover them on up!
Whether you're into sharp menswear-inspired looks or something more Gone with the Wind, sleeves are clearly becoming the undisputed protagonists of the fashion world. Admittedly, this shape is not new to fashion and has been prominent before (hello, 1980's power suit!), but the most current iteration of the trend conveys a much more sophisticated and dramatic effect.
There are essentially two different types of the statement-shouldered look. Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney gave us jackets with a boxier, boyish cut, whereas softer, puffed sleeves from Zimmermann perfectly toed the line between bold, '80s vibes and Victorian romance. But regardless of shape and proportion, the overall effect was the same–one of strength and femininity.
So give your bare shoulders a little time away from the spotlight with some of our favorite bold-shouldered pieces...
