A Manhattan native and lifelong traveler, designer Ulla Johnson launched her eponymous line in 2000. Inspired by wanderlust and exploration of different cultures, Johnson draws from a melange of global references—batik prints, embroidery, and fringe details. With an intense focus on the details of construction, her collections focus on natural fibers, beautiful finishing, and the ease of fit. Over the years, her label has become synonymous with intricate patterns and embellishments, as well as fine tailoring, which has earned her a loyal and steadfast customer base.
Her Spring 2017 presentation was full of shades of khaki, taupe, and blush, as well as a few pops of color in an intricately crocheted sweater. And we couldn’t miss all the (very on-trend) ruffles—found on everything from skirts to jumpsuits to tops. Johnson found inspiration for the collection on her travels to South America, so shop away to get inspired for your next getaway…
