We're sure you can dig up countless baby photos of yourself dressed adorably in polka dots. And perhaps back when you finally retired those little dresses and bow-adorned headbands, you may have thought you were done with the playful print—but not so fast. We spent the better part of late 2017 seeing spots, and it sure looks like polkas aren't going anywhere this spring.
If you aren't on board with the dots yet, it's time dive in and rethink the surprisingly versatile, modern version of the print. Cropping up repeatedly on the spring 2018 catwalks of labels like Balenciaga, Self-Portrait, Monse, and Dior, we were offered multiple ways to wear polka dots. Think everything from chiffon dresses worn with modern sock boots to monochromatic sheer skirts and blouses. And off the runway, our favorite street style stars have been teaching a masterclass in putting together the perfect polka dot ensembles, proving the pattern isn't just for the catwalk.
And for spring, we're all about romantic ruffles and voluminous sleeves adorned with spots. While the print can read ultra-feminine, you can easily steer clear of baby-doll vibes with high-waist, straight-leg denim paired with edgy accessories like sharp pointed-toe kitten heels and a bevy of chunky gold jewelry. Voilà! You have modern-day Parisian written all over you.
So go on and get spotted in our favorite polka dot pieces below...
