The Lighter Side

More old school than the rules themselves is bothering with adhering to fashion "rules." Case in point, these days we're not afraid to throw on a pair of sneakers with an evening gown, or mix our trusty striped button-down with our new silky leopard skirt. And, if there's one "rule" we've thrown straight out the window, it's not wearing white after Labor Day.
With August fast-approaching, we find ourselves asking, 'How is this even still a thing?' Because if we want to cozy up in some winter whites, we're going to—and no one can tell us otherwise. Because even though we say you can (and should!) wear them all year round, we'll admit they do feel particularly appropriate at this time of the year.
While we tend to live life on the edge (and will sip on Pinot Noir in our just-bought white linen top), we understand that full-on white denim may not be for everyone. Luckily, this summer is also bringing on a resurgence, of nearly-white light-washed jeans. And let's be real, there's something goosebumpingly good about seeing the return of '80s-approved light blue bottoms and a reissued pair of Nike's Cortez sneakers. Or maybe it's our affinity for the aforementioned white linen top that strikes just the right delicate balanced when styled out with a softer jean.
Either way, finding the perfect pair of super-pale denim before cooler weather sets in is at the top of our shopping list (our preferred go-to is a good relaxed jean, but to each their own). So, scroll on to shop our favorite pairs of crisp, light-washed and white denim...just go easy on the ketchup, okay?
