We’ve Got You Covered (Sort Of)

Last season, lacy bralettes layered over tee shirts à la Kendall Jenner were a big deal. It was a fun, '90s-inspired revival, and was surprisingly wearable compared to other recent trends (we're talking mile-long sleeves, navel-grazing v-necks, and Bowie boots). In other lingerie related news, slip dresses and corset belts are enjoying their fifteen minutes as well. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the ante has been upped for the underwear-as-outerwear trend this spring. Enter the bra top. This plainly self-explanatory item is exactly what you’d expect it to be, and was seen paired with high-waisted maxi skirts, jeans, and even suits on the spring runways of Altuzarra, Tory Burch, and Oscar de la Renta.
You might be thinking that this doesn’t seem like a practical addition to your wardrobe, but au contraire. Translucent textiles such as tulle and organza are popular this season as well, so if you’re not of the exhibitionist mindset, you can still participate in this trend simply by layering one of these teeny tops beneath a sheer blouse, and coordinating with a demure pair of high-rise trousers. Whether you’re in the market for a bra top, bralette, or sheer outerwear, we’ve compiled a collection that's got you covered (as much as a lingerie-inspired trend allows)…
